I have seen and heard people discussing Christmas celebrations, the decorations appearing...it makes me wonder, how many of us celebrate in other ways during the winter season.

I may not be celebrating much of anything, as I am outside the city. Hanukkah is best spent with family and friends. Though I would not pass up some of the traditional food.

[SPEAK OF THE DEVIL--well okay, more like speak of one of the mother-like figures in Hiccup's life, but the point is that he was about to call Ziva!

Because even if she didn't remember him knowing that Hanukkah was a Thing, he did remember and was about to execute Hanukkah Plans.]

Oh yeah? Outside of which city, now? After those weird weekends, people tend to get tossed all over the map...

[WHAT LUCK.]

Yeah. I was pretty lucky to still be at Albert's house when I woke up. [Not that he couldn't get a good idea for how to navigate from a quick call to Carmen at pretty much any time.] And hey, as a matter of fact, I'm heading to Goldenrod on the train tomorrow. Maybe we can meet up.

[HA HA, DON'T SAY SUCH CRAZY THINGS...]

Goldenrod has pretty much anything you can think of--I bet there's even a place that has some of that good traditional Hanukkah food you want. [Just focus on the good things, Ziva! Travel will be over soon.] I can help you stock up on warmer clothes for Winter, too. It's only going to get colder, from here...

[And he's pretty comfortable wearing his fall clothes, thanks to growing up on Berk. His clothes budget needs a dent made in it.]

Deciding what to pack can be hard. It's easier when you have a dragon, horse, or giant dog willing to carry some bags for you. They're good for travel, anyway, and so are fire pokemon this time of year.

[Treating Ziva like a newbie was sad.]

I'm lucky to be able to keep a few things at Albert's place in Saffron or the Other House in Goldenrod, if I need to.

[herp derp, he was thinking Officer Jenny for a second.]

What kind of pokemon is she?
newberktown: (so call me maybe?)

Hey, nice. Luxio are good pokemon--my friend Astrid raised one. It's a Luxray, now.

[And it got a little friendly with his pet sheep and saddled them with six eggs...]

Do you have other pokemon? I only know Eli, really.
newberktown: (without fear)

It definitely is.

[Eeee, cuties.]

Heh. You had a Growlithe the last time you were here, too--but she was already evolved by the time I met her. What kind of pokemon are Malachi and Jimmy?
newberktown: (that's a little farfetch'd)

Mhmn. Her name's Vicky, and after you left, she went to my friend Carmen. I'm actually borrowing her for my trip, so you'll be able to meet her, even if you don't actually remember her.

[Point is that VICKY IS A COOL AND SO CAN YOU or something to that effect stated in a more grammatically correct fashion.

Also please wait a moment while his mind boggles at the prospect of someone catching a Shellos on purpose.]

I got a Shellos, too--only she's a Gastrodon, now. I can understand bits of the names sometimes, but yeah, they're...pretty strange. Which is normal for here, so I guess it's right on track.
