[When the video on Ziva's gear snaps on, she's sitting on the floor, leaning against Vicky, her Arcanine, wrapped up in a thick blanket. She looks tired, vaguely ill, and definitely frustrated.

She hates being sick. And the chill and wet certainly didn't help her still recovering immune system, not when she had gotten re-acclimated to desert weather--it got cold at night, but it was a dry cold, not the kind that settled into your bones and made you feel like you'd never be warm again.

Or that you'd never be warm until a giant fire-breathing tiger-dog decided to act as your personal pillow/space heater, either or.]

What is the best way to recover from a cold?

[ She doesn't exactly come rushing, that's more Abby's job, but none the less Kate does come to check on her, calmly. Her eyes suggest understanding for the frustration she's showing. ]

I'm sure Abby or Ducky probably know one. [ Maybe they were lucky, and Ducky had shared his with Abby if Abby didn't have her own? ]

Probably. I imagine one of Ducky's suggestions would be to drink more tea.

[She has a bit of a lopsided smile on after that.]

[She shifts slightly.]

I have gotten re-accustomed to the desert climate. This cold and wet...ugh.

Well it's definitely not doing us any favors anytime soon. [ Kate checks the nightstand by her bed. She'd learned a long time ago to be prepared all the time, that and she was just the kind of person that didn't really go anywhere without medicine. With the weather like it is... ]

I don't know how well Johto medicine works, but I figured we'd need this sooner or later.

[ She moves to sit next to Ziva, holding up the bottle of cold medicine with the picture of nurse Chansey on the front. ]

[Mihoshi waves a little.]

Hi~! I think the best way to deal with colds are lots of soup and rest! I like to sleep all the time until it goes away.

[What DOES bother him is the fact that his favorite human looks out of sorts. Which is why he would be edging slowly up to her, squinting.]}

You should be in bed. The floor is not good for you.

It depends on what you've got with you. If you don't have medicine just take it easy and try to stay warm. It'll run its course eventually.

Dunno how hard it'd be t'find here, but whenever I got sick, Mom used t'give me baiju - always seemed t'knock it out pretty quick. []

No...it will only get colder.

[She's pouting internally. Really.

She reaches out to take the bottle, flipping it over to look at the label. Looks fairly legit. She twists open the seal and pours a dose into the little plastic cap, knocking it back like it's a shot glass.]

I normally do not get sick so easily.

Unfortunately, after so long of getting up early, sleeping late...doesn't really work for me.

[She tries and fails.]

[Ziva was born and raised practically in the desert, despite living in cooler climates for a time, she's still sort of wired for the hot weather.

Toothless gets a little smile.]

I will be fine, Toothless. Don't worry.

[And she will endeavor not to sneeze on you.]

[Sound advice. Doctorly advice, even.]

Spoken like a doctor. I suppose that would be the obvious answer.

[Does she really have a choice in the matter?]

I can only stay in bed so long.

[She doesn't liiiiike it. :C being all immobile in bed.]

Besides, Vicky does not fit well, and she is being a mother duck.

Very possible since I am a doctor.

Hen. A mother hen. And she can snuggle with you in bed.

[Ah darnit. She waves a hand.]

I apologize for the complaint. I have never tolerated being sick well.

[She shrugs slightly from her blanket cocoon.]

[See? Some of these sayings make no sense!

Also as distraction tactics go, this is working fairly well. Ziva looks somewhat pleased, since she basically got a 'you know, you're right' only...with different words. If it were Tony she were talking to, she'd probably preen a bit.]

Besides. I like ducks better than chickens.
